EDWARD BESS Prismette Eyeshadow Quad Cosmic Bliss

Edward Bess has recently introduced three new eyeshadow quad palettes to his cosmetics range; Over the Moon, Cosmic Bliss, and Sun and Stars ($68). The shadows are housed in glossy black mirrored palettes that come with a mini applicator (a sponge end and a brush end).  Out of all the palettes, I decided to go with Cosmic Bliss because it seemed like a neutral lover’s dream.
Cosmic Bliss contains four beautiful warm neutrals: a cream matte shade, a khaki taupe with soft shimmer, a darker taupe brown shimmer, and a dark chocolate shimmer with a touch of red. The colors go and blend together beautifully, I especially love the two middle shades. Each shadow has gorgeous pigmentation and is very smooth and buttery to the touch.
This palette is extremely versatile and could easily be used on a daily basis. You could definitely create a soft, natural eye or deep, smoky one.  I highly recommend this palette if you are looking for a beautiful luxe, neutral palette.  Edward Bess is available at Sephora.com (where I purchased mine) or Bergdorf’s, Neiman’s, or EdwardBess.com.

Beauty Favorites of 2012

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 2012 has come and gone…..boy does time fly! It’s been a crazy year for me; I never knew that raising a little kiddo would be so tiring and amazing at the same time. Having a child has changed my spending habits for beauty/fashion items; instead buying lipgloss, I have been buying formula and diapers buy the truck load. I feel like I didn’t purchased as many new products this year but the ones that I did have turned out to be some of my favorite, most used products of the year. So with out further ado, here are my favorite beauty products of 2012!

Skincare

• Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel ($35) - Contains Glycolic & Salicylic Acid to exfoliate and clarify. It’s oil-free and leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean.

• Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Moisturizer ($45) - Lightweight, Oil-Free and melts into to the skin to hydrate beautifully plus contains multiple anti-aging ingredients. Only wished it came in a pump!
 • Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee Eye & Lip Cream ($49) – I use this morning & night, super lightweight, I feel my dark circles have lighten a bit and definitely feel like I look less fatigued in the eyes.

• Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee Anti Wrinkle Serum ($62) – I use this a night to give my skin a little moisture before bedtime. Contains Hyaluronic acid and Grape-seed Polyphenols to smooth and correct wrinkles. Got to start early to combat those wrinkles!!

Makeup

• Foundation – Chanel Perfection Lumiere ($54) B10/B20 – Love Love Love this foundation! I get even coverage every time and it lasts all day…it really is perfection.

• Concealer – Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer & Corrector ($23 each) Sand/Light Bisque – Use together really covers my dark circles and other skin imperfections.
• Powder – Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder ($3.99) – Heard about this powder on Pixi2woo’s YouTube channel. Extremely affordable & works great to set my makeup.
• Blush – Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed ($25) this is my favorite color currently but I love the formula of this blush and have it in multiple colors. Lasts all day and this is a perfect everyday nude shade.

• Bronzer – Edward Bess Ultra Luminous Bronzer in Daydream ($45) – Been my go to bronzer for about 2 years now. I love it, can’t say anything but good things about it.

• Eyeshadow – (tie) MAC Carine Roitfeld Desert Camouflage Palette ($44) & Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette ($50) – These both are excellent neutral palette perfect for everyday use. You can create tons and tons of look using just these 2 palettes.

• Eyeliner – (tie) Eve Pearl Black Pearl Liquid liner ($29) & MAC Teddy Eye Kohl ($15) I use these separately but also together to get the perfect liner. The EP liquid really gets to the bottom of the lash line to create a really thin line. Teddy is just an overall great everyday liner.

• Mascara – MAC False Lashes ($20) doesn’t clump or flake. It lasts all day and makes my lashes longer and fuller than any other formula I have tried.

• Lip liner – No. 7 Lip liner in Nude ($7.99) best basic lip liner, almost exactly like Sublime Culture from MAC. I use this everyday.

• Lipstick – Burberry Lip Cover in Nude Rose ($30) Great neutral color, I have been using a lot this fall in winter as my go to lipstick for everyday.
• Lipgloss – (tie) Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Intimacy ($22) & Chanel Sweet Beige Glossimer ($29.50) both of these shades look great on their own or over lipstick. Love both formulas.

Well there you have it, my favs of 2012. Hope everyone had a safe New Year Holiday and I can’t wait to see what new goodies 2013 will bring! See you next time…

Edward Bess Deep Shine Lipgloss in Lover’s Desire & Ultra Slick Lipstick in Lotus Bloom

Edward Bess has introduced some new shades of his Ultra Slick Lipstick ($32) & Deep Shine Lipgloss ($30). But with these new shades it looks as if some of his older shades were discontinued, such as two of my favorite shades, Secret Desire Lipstick and Endless Love Lipgloss (sad face). But I am hoping that his new shades will be equally as amazing as every shade I have tried. Here is a run down of the new shades of glosses & lipsticks:

Ultra Slick Lipstick:
• Midnight Hour - Cool PinkDeep Shine Lipgloss:
• Forbidden Love - Beige Coral
• Night Jasmine – Raspberry Mauve
• Roulette Rouge – True Red
• Naked Truth – Beige Nude
• Lotus Bloom – Peachy Pink

Deep Shine Lip Gloss
• Stolen Kiss – Baby Pink (Looks Similar to Endless Love)
• Lover’s Desire – Peachy Neutral
• Wild Passion – Berry Mauve
• Nude Whisper – True Beige
I picked up two of the new shades; Deep Shine Lipgloss in Lover’s Desire and Ultra Slick Lipstick in Lotus Bloom. Lover’s Desire is a peachy pink with a cream finish; it’s kind of like Secret Desire Deep Shine Lipstick but in lipgloss form! It has great pigmentation, like all of Edward’s glosses that it’s easy to wear on its own or over a lipstick. I find that all the Deep Shine lipglosses have great staying power which is I believe is due to the thickness of the formula. I can drink a cup of coffee and this gloss will last through, most don’t on my lips.
Lover's Desire
Lotus Bloom is just the color I have been looking for recently, a true peach. It’s described as a Peachy Pink on Sephora’s website but I don’t see much pink as you can see from my swatches. It’s a buttery smooth color that glides on easily. Lover’s Desire and Lotus Bloom make a perfect combo for a soft peach lip. I am totally in love with both!!

Edward Bess Monte Carlo Quad Royale

Monte Carlo is one of three Quad Royale ($45) face highlighters from Edward Bess. It contains four coordinated shades to sculpt and highlight the face. It gives a healthy peachy glow with a subtle shimmer. Monte Carlo can be used as a sheer highlighter and it’s pigmented enough to be applied as a blush.
The Quad consists of a light peach, a golden peach, medium peach with a hint of pink and deeper peachy-coral. The texture of this powder is smooth, silky and is finely milled.  It’s super easy to apply and blend on the face for a natural glow, the color is not overpowering at all. It's neutral enough for all skin tones; lighter skin tones could definitely use this as a blush.

The Quad Royales come in the signature Edward Bess sleek black compact and comes with its own brush which is good for on-the-go touch ups.  Overall, I have loved every Edward Bess product I have ever purchased and this is another winner!  Stay tuned for new Deep Shine lipgloss shades from Edward Bess! He launched three new shades and I can’t wait to get my hands on them!

Edward Bess Ultra Luminous Eyeshadow in Escape

I already own a few of Edward Bess eyeshadows, Intimate, Dusk and Mystery.  They make for wonderful neutral eye combos for day or nighttime.  I decided to add a new EB shadow to my collection, Escape ($30).
With summer upon us, I am all about the bronze and gold shades, whether just shimmery or metallic, I love them all.  Escape is just the color I have been wanting, scratch that, needing.  Escape is a beautiful warm copper with a touch of bronze.  Just like the other EB shadows, Escape is wonderfully pigmented and buttery soft.  All though this shade is not super shimmery or metallic, it has a subtle sheen that is classic and elegant.  When applied it gives the lids a warm glow.  I like to wear it alone with bronzy eyeliner for day and for night I like to add a little Mystery, which is a deep brown, in the crease for smokiness and depth.

Edward Bess Illuminating Eyeshadow Base in Cashmere

Illuminating Eyeshadow Base ($30) is a new product launched by Edward Bess.  It comes in three shades, Cashmere, Dune & Suede. I purchased the lightest shade in Cashmere, creamy light beige. These come in a twist pen applicator with a built in brush. This shade blends quite well into my light skin and seems to even out the skin tone a bit.  I am always on the look for a shadow base that will cover the few small veins I have on my lids.  This base seems to cover them lightly but not all the way.
Illuminating Eyeshadow Base applies smoothly and is super easy to blend.  It feels light and natural on the lids.  You don’t need much product for an application; a little goes a long way. I apply a little to the lid with the brush applicator then smooth it out with my finger.  I have been using this product for a few days now and have not noticed any major creasing and shadows really do seem to last all day (or a least the 8 hours I am at work).
Overall, I am pretty impressed with this product.  I think I might pick up the medium shade, Dune, to use for the summer when my skin is more tan.  Edward Bess products are available at Sephora.com, Zuneta.com, Neimanmarcus.com or BergdorfGoodman.com. You can also find it at Edward Bess counters at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.

Edward Bess Platinum Concealer

I have read so many excellent reviews of Edward Bess Platinum Concealer ($38) I thought it was about time that I give it a try. I love all the rest of his products so I thought his concealer has got to be amazing as well. Sephora is running a 15% off promotion so I thought this was the perfect time to try it out since it is a little pricey for a concealer. Sephora’s website describes the formula as “A creamy, full-coverage concealer that leaves skin looking flawless. The rich, yet lightweight texture of this formula blends smoothly across your skin and conceals to perfection. Fade away discolorations and brighten dark under eye circles for the look of flawless, radiant skin. The sleek, twist-up case provides precise application with every use.”
I choose the color Ivory Nude, which is one of four available colors. It is described online as a light sand. Too me it seems pretty neutral, not too much yellow or pink.  It blends into my skin quite perfectly. I am pretty pale right now, so I think for the summer I might get the Soft Beige, which is suppose to suit most skintones.
Platinum concealer comes in a solid stick formula that is very soft, creamy and easy to blend. I like the sleek black packaging that Edward uses, very modern and chic. The formula gives excellent coverage and allows for easy blending. I have been using a small concealer brush to apply (ELF professional concealer brush – it’s the best and only cost $3 at Target!!) and then blending/patting out with my finger. I mainly have been using it on my under eye circles and have to say it covers them well. My dark circles have been much worse since having little baby Cooper, lots of sleep deprivation. It also got rid of the red on the side of my nose. Overall, I love this concealer and I have a feeling that it will last a long time.

Edward Bess Deep Shine Lip Gloss in French Lace

I have a new favorite lip gloss in my life, French Lace Deep Shine Lip gloss by Edward Bess ($30). One of the most beautiful colors I have seen in a long time, this gorgeous neutral creamy pink enhances my natural lip color perfectly.  I love all my Deep Shine lip glosses but this has to be my favorite by far.  I have been wearing it pretty much everyday since I bought it, the tube is almost half gone!  I can't think of one thing I don't like about this gloss.  I love the fig scent and the shine it gives my lips is just perfection.  It can be a little on the sticky side but I think that's what helps it last on my lips. Overall a great gloss to have in your collection if your a neutral chick like me.

You can find Edward Bess at EdwardBess.com , neimanmarcus.com or bergdorfgoodman.com.  And recently Edward Bess products can be found on Sephora.com!!  I was super excited when I heard that news.  I have some gift cards burning a hole in my pocket that I can spend on some new EB products.
