Nail Polish Haul - L'Oreal and Fergie for Wet & Wild

It's been forever since I had bought a bunch of new nail polish. So while at Walgreens I picked up some fun new colors for summer! I got three bright colors from L'oreal and one sparkle top coat from Wet n Wild.
I will be featuring all these polishes in coming Nail of the Week posts.

Nail of the Week! Maybelline Color Show Green With Envy

I picked this Maybelline Color Show nail polish up at Target the other day, I believe for $3.99. This is my first Color Show which I think is a newly released line of polishes for Maybelline (??). I have wanted a mint green polish for sometime and they had what looked like the perfect one, so I picked it up.
Green with Envy is mint green with a cream finish, simple as that.  The formula of the polish is decently opaque and covered the nails nicely with two coats. I found the formula to be a little on the thicker side which is different than other polishes I like to use (OPI, Essie) but it seemed to dry quickly. Overall, a great color for summer! I threw on some gold glitter to spice it up a bit and I love it!

Le Métier de Beauté Haute House Hues Nail Lacquer in Snappy Dragon

This is my first experience trying Le Metier de Beaute Nail Lacquer ($18). I have read countless reviews about the formula and the different shades they offer on other blogs. So I decided to try one of their limited edition shades from the Neiman Marcus exclusive Spring 2012 Haute House Hues Collection, Snappy Dragon.
Snappy Dragon is a bright neon pink, almost fuschia, with blue undertones. The finish is a cream satin and with two coats you get opaque coverage. I really like the brush that these polishes come with. I feel like they really help with the application of the polish. I am pretty unsteady when it comes to polishing my nails, but I had no problem with this polish at all. All Le Metier de Beaute nail lacquers are formulated 3-Free without formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and Proposition 65-compliant. They are also fortified with strengthening proteins and hydrators.

OPI Shapely Shapers Set

With the weather getting weather, it was time to start up the pedicures. I normally only do pedicures during the spring/summer/early fall months when the weather is warm and my toes see the light of day. I love getting pedicures not only for the perfect polishing but the scrubbing and massaging as well. I could sit there forever and have my feet rubbed, its wonderful. Anyway, my friend had gotten a pedicure earlier in the week and I just loved the color that she used, Strawberry Margarita. So I went to Ulta to pick it up before my pedicure. They didn’t have it individually but they did have it in a set called Shapely Shapers for $14.95. The set comes with two polishes (Strawberry Margarita & Bubble Bath), a cute nail file and tweezers.
Strawberry Margarita is my absolute new favorite shade for the spring/summer. It is a deep hot pink with a cream finish, no shimmer. This color is very opaque, two coats and you are good to go. This color was first released with the Mexico collection in 2006, and then re-released with the Dell collection.
Bubble Bath is a perfect light pink shade for your fingers. It’s a sheer light pink with a cream finish. It was released with the Sheer Romance collection. Since it is very sheer, if you want near opaque coverage your will need at least three coats. It’s a beautifully simple color.
The kit also comes with a cute nail file and tweezers. They are in the shape of women and are perfect size for travel, so they have made a nice addition to my travel bag.

NOTD: Essie Sew Psyched

I was at Ulta the other day browsing around and stumbled upon the 2010 Fall collection from Essie.  Out of the six new shades offered, I decided to try one of them.

Sew Psyched is a military grayish green with a cream finish with slight shimmer.  Vert from Chanel. Sew Psyched from Essie is definitely a more affordable option if you don’t want to spend the money on Chanel.  Especially on a color like this were you may not wear it as mush as other colors such as nudes, pink or reds.  After about two coats you get a great opaque finish. If you want a little something different for fall, I would go check this polish out.

NOTD: Ginger + Liz Not On The First Date

Since I loved the nail polish in "Swagger" I purchased from Ginger + Liz, I decided to order a couple more polishes that caught my eye.  I decided on "Not On the First Date" from the fall collection that was released recently.

This polish is described as a creamy lavender taupe, which really is the perfect description.  When I saw it online the color looked more pink but I am quite happy with the actual lavender color. I am really into neutrals right now when it comes to my fingernails, so this is a perfect new addition to my collection!

NOTD Chanel Intermezzo

Intermezzo nail polish from Chanel is one of my favorites.  It came out in Fall 2009 in Chanel's Cruise collection.  I think the color is so sophisticated and totally wearable all year round.

I love a good white nail polish to brighten up my hands but Intermezzo is not your typical opaque white nail polish.  It is a beautiful white pearl  and when light hits it, a pink iridescent shimmer appears. It's quite a sheer polish, so you will need at least 3 coats to get it to be semi-opaque.  Love this polish!

NOTD: Butter London All Hail McQueen

Part of Butter London’s Fall 2010 collection, All Hail McQueen is a shade dedicated to the memory of the late great fashion designer Alexander McQueen. I have been reading about the shade for a while now and I finally got my hands on it. I love this color! Lately I have really been into lighter neutral colors on my finger nails, so this color fits the bill.

All Hail McQueen is a holographic nude beige shimmer. It is so beautiful when it hits natural light, a multicolored sparkle effect comes to life. It’s probably one of the cooler colors in my nail polish collection, because I don’t have anything like it. If you don’t have it, you must run out and get it!

NOTD: Ginger + Liz Swagger

I first read about Ginger + Liz nail polish on Rachel Zoe’s website, www.rachelzoe.com. Rachel has a section called “Ask Rachel” where she answer’s fashion & beauty questions from her readers. One of the recent questions was, “What are your favorite nail polishes right now?” One of her favs was Ginger + Liz “Got My Groove Back” which is a gorgeous metallic gold. So I went to their website to order immediately but got distracted by another shade called “Swagger”.

This nail polish is AMAZING! I absolutely adore this color! Swagger is a luxe metallic champagne silver with slight pink undertones. It provides super opaque coverage, after one swipe, the nail was pretty opaque but I added another coat to make the color really pop. I have only had the polish on for a day now and so far no chipping. Hopefully it will last a few days with a chip. I will definitely being trying out more polishes from this range in the future.

NOTD : Chanel Paradoxal

Part of Chanel’s Fall 2010 cosmetics collection, Paradoxal has become another cult shade for Chanel lovers. I have been a lover of Chanel polishes ever since Vamp was released many years ago. So when a new shade comes out that is as amazing as Paradoxal, I must have it. Paradoxal is a gray violet color with shimmer. With inside light the shimmer is hard to see, but outside the shimmer really comes out. You will only need 2 coats for opaque coverage.

Great color for fall!
