Some more Rimmel Show Off Shades…

I picked up a few more shades of Rimmel’s Show Offs Lip Lacquers ($4.99) at Walgreens the other day.  I have been loving the first shades I bought so I thought why not try a few more!  Stargazer a light golden shade with bits of shimmer and Luna is a beautiful bright peach color shade that looks great as an everyday shade.  Again, Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquers are super pigmented lipgloss/lipstick hybrids that have a lightweight creamy feel with a satiny finish.

L to R: Luna, Stargazer

Overall, I am super impressed with this drugstore steal from Rimmel.  Not only is it light and long-lasting on the lips, it is not drying at all.  I would recommend checking out this product at your local drugstore, it’s a must have!

RIMMEL London Show Off Lip Lacquers

I have been a fan of Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss for a long time now.  They are affordable and come in colors that are basic and easy to throw on anytime/anywhere.  So I was excited to see Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquers in my local Walgreens and was intrigued to try them out.   Originally released overseas as Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers, they are finally available in the US. You can find these now in stores for $4.99 each in 14 different shades.  I picked up 3 shades:

200 Comet – Rosy Brown, deep nude
101 Celestial – True Pink that brightens up any pout
100 Nude Eclipse – Nude Beige

All three shades are crazy pigmented, long-wearing and not sticky. Only one swipe is needed to get full opaque coverage. I have been mixing them to create different shades as well, mainly using Nude Eclipse as a mixer to lighten up the other two shades.  It works perfectly.
Top to Bottom: Comet, Celestial, Nude Eclipse

Show Off’’s are described by Rimmel as, “Intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine.” Basically what they are trying to say is that these are a lipstick/lip gloss hybrid. The finish is shiny, like a gloss and creamy like a lipstick.  Sometimes long-wearing formulas can be drying but I didn’t find that with this product.  I found the staying power to be pretty good for a gloss formula; it almost leaves a little stain behind once the gloss has worn off. The texture is a bit on the thick side but it feels smooth and creamy on the lips.  Show Off’’s come with a doe foot applicator with a little dip in it making it easier to swipe on an even application.  One thing I wasn’t crazy about was the scent of this product. It has sort of a watermelon scent that kind of bugs me. I basically dislike anything that smells like that cheap watermelon scent (Bubble Yum gum is the worst!!).  This scent doesn’t seem to hang around too long to bother me too much though.  Overall, another great lip product from Rimmel. If you are looking for a highly pigmented version of Stay Glossy, Show Off’s is exactly what you need!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

After reading a lot about Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation via various other beauty blogs and hearing that it really is a great drugstore foundation, I thought I would give it a try. Currently this foundation is not available in the US so I had to order it from Asos.com. Wake Me Up Foundation promises to instantly re-awaken skin with a healthy, radiant looking glow. It also says that it will eliminate visible signs of tiredness and premature ageing and help fake a daisy-fresh glow by disguising the look of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles and giving an even, flawless, but natural-looking finish for up to 10 hours.

There are only six shades available in this formula, which is kind of a bummer because you don’t know if the color will be an exact match but I decided to try the second to lightest shade True Ivory (#103). When I first received this product, the shade looked a little dark in the bottle compared to other foundations I have, mostly Chanel foundations in B20, but surprisingly it matches my summer skin tone quite nicely. Wake Me Up has a light fresh scent which is soft and not overwelming. The formula glides on with ease without feeling heavy or thick and is easy to blend, it didn’t settle into my fine lines at all. Coverage is medium with a natural, slightly dewy finish, which probably comes from the illuminating radiance pearls. I found that this foundation does really awaken the skin and gives your face a fresh glow. It set well on my oily with the addition of some pressed powder and it lasted for around 8 hours which is pretty good to me.
