Becca Mineral Blush in Sweet Pea

To conclude my BECCA cosmetics haul, the last product I am going to review is their Mineral Blush ($32) is Sweet Pea.  First off, I love the name, because that is what my sister Amanda calls my niece Emma.  As it is part of the name of her blog, Simple and Sweet Pea, you can check it out here.  She blogs about her life, crafty & cooking she does.  She is much more the creative/decorator that I am. SO anyway, the name aside, out of the blush colors available, this one stood out to me.
Sweet Pea is described on the BECCA website as a “Rosy Plum Nude.” That’s a pretty good description of the color, although I don’t really get much plum when I look at it. To me, it’s definitely more of a rosy nude.  A perfect color for summer/fall months when I am a bit more tan, but honestly I will probably use this color all year round.  This blush formula is super pigment, soft and not chalky like other blushes can be.  You get quite a lot of product when you dip your brush in the compact, so I make sure to tap off the excess before I apply.  There is a hint of luminosity to this blush that gives the cheeks a soft, natural glow.  I am so so happy with all of my BECCA cosmetics purchases!! It has become my new favorite brand of the moment.  I still have to try some of their base products (foundation, concealer, powder) but don’t really like purchasing those products online, I like to be color matched.  I believe there is a boutique in my town that sells BECCA, so whenever I find the time, I may pop over and check out those other products.  Until next time!!

BECCA Mineral Bronzing/Highlighter Duo

BECCA Mineral Bronzer/ Illuminator, in Serrana, gives my skin a bronzy, candle lit glow.  This bronzer & highlighter duo is matte light bronze on one side and a soft flesh-toned shimmer on the other. BECCA describes this product as a “lightweight bronzing and illuminating duo adds luminous polish and radiance to the complexion, minimizes flaws by deflecting unflattering light and sculpts and defines features with sun kissed warmth.”  It can be used separately or together to give a natural, not orange, bronze glow that is perfect for light to medium skin tones.
The formula is oil-free and contains mineral pigments.  I find the color pretty long lasting and it applies smoothly and evenly.  It comes packaged in a classic BECCA mirrored compact for on-the-go applications.  I also like to use the highlighter on my eyes, placing a little on the inner corner and on the brow bone.  Yet another lovely product from BECCA, might be my new favorite cosmetics line!

Becca Sheer Tint Lip Colour in Estella & Gisella

I picked up two of the Sheer Tint Lip Colors ($24) from BECCA Cosmetics; Estella & Gisella. The lip colors contain hydrating and nourishing ingredients such as Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E. The texture of these lip tints is very lightweight and gives a sheer wash of color with creamy shine. I was worried that when I ordered these that the coverage would be quite sheer but each gives quite nice pigmentation for a sheer tint. The more you apply the more color you get. The formula applies very smoothly and evenly. My lips feel super moisturized after applying and even after the color has worn off, my lips feel quite soft. All the lip tints have a vanilla/caramel scent which I was a little scared of because that’s not my favorite but it turned out to be a very light pleasant vanilla scent that is not overwhelming.
Estella is describes on the website as a soft baby pink but to me what you get is a soft nude beige with very, very subtle pink tone. I was kind of bummed that the color didn’t turn out to be what it was described on the website because it looked so beautiful online. But after trying this color on, I was in love. This is a great color for someone who is too afraid to pull off a true heavy nude lip, like myself. I don’t like when my lips look too washed out. Estella gives a soft nude glow to the lips that pairs perfectly with a smoky eye.  Gisella is described as a caramel nude but to me it’s more of a dusty rosy pink. Love this shade! It looks much darker in the tube but applies as a natural gorgeousness! Definitely my new favorite MLBP (my lips but better) shade.

Overall, I am loving the BECCA Sheer Tint lip colors. I can definitely see myself using these all the time.

Becca Lost Weekend Eyeshadow Palette

BECCA released the Lost Weekend Palette in their Fall 2011 collection, along with several other products. This limited edition three eye color palette washes eyes in neutral, dusty and earthy shades. The colors in the palette are Moleskin soft matte stone beige with a hint of mauve), Chino (a matte, chocolate brown) and Moiré (a shimmery mushroom brown with touch of pink). These gorgeous natural, earthy tones will match most skin tones easily.
All three shadows are velvety soft and well pigmented. They are extremely easy to blend and apply very smoothly. I really like this palette; it’s a great neutral palette for everyday. I have been wearing it consistently since I got it, using the Baroque eye tint as a base. That really helps the shadow last all day. Overall, another product that I am loving from BECCA cosmetics!

Becca Line & Define Eye Pencil in Cabrera

Another product that I picked up in my Becca Cosmetics haul was the Line and Define Pencil ($23) in Cabrera.  Cabrera was released with the new Spring 2012 collection Balearic Love.  Becca describes their line and define pencils as "A combination liner and brightener in one, this convenient dual-ended pencil has a soft, smooth texture that glides on easily to line, define and brighten the eyes, while blending easily. The dark side of BECCA’s Line & Define Pencil lavishly lines while the light side helps brighten and awaken tired eyes for a vibrant and youthful effect."
Cabrera dual pencil consists of two colors, a deep violet and a metallic bronze. Both colors are very pigmented, the violet almost so deep in color you can hardly tell its violet, more of a brown with a violet tinge.  The colors apply flawlessly and smudge/blend beautifully.  Overall a great liner to use everyday or for a smokier evening look.  Love it!

Becca Beach Tint in Fig

Becca Beach Tint in Fig ($25) is another item that I picked up from Becca Cosmetics.  Becca describes their Beach Tint as “a beautifully blendable crème stain for cheeks and lips that suits all skin types. Kiss-proof and water-resistant, it dries to a perfect, streak-free, non-greasy and non-drying finish. Each shade is deliciously scented in its synonymous name.” The formula is also oil-free, which is a plus for me.

Fig is described as a Tea Rose Pink on the website and that’s pretty much what you get.  It’s a nice nude pink with a fig scent. It’s great for lighter skin tones, with very soft color and not at all overpowering. The finish is very sheer but can be layered to give a stronger color. Beach tint can also work as a base for powder blush if you would like more color.  I tried this product on my lips but wasn’t too crazy about how it looked.  It seemed to dry them out a bit when applied on its own but I added a little gloss and it looked much better.  Overall I will enjoy using this product in the summer for pool days or days I know I will be gone all day.  So far Becca products are really impressing me. Stay tuned for more…..

Becca Eye Tint in Baroque

I have heard a lot of good things about the Austrailian cosmetic brand Becca on various other blogs and youtube videos.  After looking over their products on their website, beccacosmetics.com, I decided to try out several items.  The first I am going to review is one of their Eye Tints in the color Baroque.
Becca describes their Eye Tints as "An ingenious eye crème with a unique formulation that glides on as a crème and sets to a powder. This long-lasting, water-resistant, crease-resistant tint is easy to apply, offering adjustable levels of sheer to high pigment colour. Can be layered under powder eye colours and loose pigments for added intensity. Can be applied with fingers or a brush. Streak-free."
Baroque is described as a Mushroom Beige and that is what you get.  It leaves lids with a very sheer wash of color (unless you layer on more) which is great when you want a natural look. This product makes for an excellent eyeshadow base and seems to make powder shadow last much longer. Baroque being a light color would probably suit light to medium skin tones rather than darker.  The actual formula is pretty weightless and easy to apply. The creamy formula feels soft and smooth and blends easily. Don't know if I would replace my paint pots with this product, but it is a nice new addition to my collection.
