Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer in Ivory

“Enhanced with Revitalizing Moisture Complex to lock in moisture and smooth out texture. Blends sublimely to expertly conceal dark circles, spots and imperfections. High performance powders ensure flawless skin in any light, providing maximum coverage with a smooth, even finish that does not crease.”
A perennial makeup artist favorite, Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer is highly editorialized and continues to win major awards year-after-year.  I finally broke down and decided to try this cult favorite concealer.  The concealer comes in stick form, in a very sturdy metal casing. I rarely apply stick concealer straight from the tube onto my face unless I am using it to cover multiple areas of my face.  I normally use my finger or a brush (try the e.l.f. concealer brush, amazing and only$1 at Target) to pick up product and apply.
Ok, now on to the actual product. Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer retails for $70 (whoa but kind of worth it) and comes in 4 shades; Ivory, Ocher, Beige & Honey.  You would think that since this product has become so popular among makeup artist that they would have a wider color range but unfortunately they don’t.  I choose Ivory since it is the lightest and closest to my skin tone.  I have to say that this concealer definitely lives up to the hype. It is one of the best I have tried in a long time.   This is truly one of the smoothest concealers I have ever used and it just blends seamlessly into my skin.  The pigmentation of this product is insane!! Definitely a full coverage concealer that doesn't move or slip about once applied (not oily or drying; just the perfect consistency).  It stays put and lasts all day once set with a little face powder.  I have been using this daily to cover blemishes and dark spots, also use over my Bobbi Brown correctors to conceal dark circles.
I am a lot more impressed by this concealer than I thought I would be.   For me, it is totally worth the expensive price tag.  I am kind of obsessed when it comes to covering spots and imperfections and this product really gives me the perfect complexion I desire!

Clé de Peau Beauté SS 2013 La Beaute Mediterranee Collection Enriched Lip Luminizer 221 Sweet Nougat

“Pure radiance in a lip rouge. Lavishly bathes lips in luxurious luster. With each use, the fuller and more stunning your lips become. Brilliant dessert-inspired shades and a sumptuous texture put a spotlight on your most beguiling feature.”

The second item I pick up from the Clé de Peau Beauté SS2013 collection is the Enriched Lip Luminizer ($35) in 221 Sweet Nougat.   Sweet Nougat is one of three shades of Lip Luminizer released with this collection, the other two being Sugar Candy 222 & Raspberry Rip.  Lip Luminizer is a superbly soft and silky formula that melts onto lips. Sweet Nougat is a rosy blush shade that is definitely a perfect "my lips but better" shade and can easily be worn all day, everyday, 365 days a year. It complements the Sapphire 209 Eye Quad beautifully by not overpowering the lips and leaving the focus on the eyes.
The lip luminizers also come in a refillable packaging with a separate case ($25), which you can just pop the lipstick into.  So if you want to purchase multiple shades you can just switch them up or buy a case for each, whatever!

Clé de Peau Beauté SS 2013 La Beaute Mediterranee Collection Eye Quad in Sapphire 209

“For the Spring/Summer 2013, Lucia Pieroni, Makeup Creative Director for Clé de Peau Beauté, has created a collection inspired by the allure and sublime beauty of the Mediterranean; with its sun-drenched summers, shimmering seas, cloudless skies, and earth-baked landscapes.”

The first item that I picked from the collection was the Eye Color Quad in 209 Sapphire. Oh my goodness, this is a beautiful combo of colors; perfect for spring & summer.  This is my first eye quad from Clé de Peau and I must say it’s stunning and I am so excited about it.  The palette contains a warm gold, sparkling light copper, sapphire blue and a metallic ivory. The sapphire blue adds the perfect pop of color to the eye and complements the other shades. Mostly I have been wearing it along the lash line.  The texture of the shadows is super soft, silky and smooth; very finely milled. Clé de Peau Beauté eyeshadows contain Argan Tree Oil that is suppose to provide smooth application and wear. They also contain the exclusive advanced moisturizing ingredient Hydro-Wrap Complex.  Every shade has great pigmentation and gives off a soft, sophisticated shimmer. There is a slight overspray of the Clé de Peau logo on the eyeshadows, but it rubs off after the first use and doesn’t offer any color payoff during application.
Here is my go to look with this palette: I have been using the largest shade in the palette (the warm gold) all over the lid, then the copper in the crease and outer lid. I highlight the brow bone and inner tear duct with the ivory, then use black eyeliner (Bobbi Brown Caviar Pencil) and place the sapphire over top the black to create a pop of gorgeousness. Then finish of the look with a fabulous mascara!
Overall, I think this might be my go to palette for spring/summer this year.  It’s a very sophisticated take on shimmering neutrals with a pop of color.  You can purchase the palette as a refill ($55) for the casing ($25) that is sold separately. That way you can pop different palettes out when you want. Since this is my first Clé de Peau quad, I purchased the casing but probably just get the refills down the road.
